Director of Communications and Media Services
The Bismarck Diocese is hiring a Director of Communications and Media Services. This person serves as the official spokesperson for the bishop and oversees the communication needs of the diocese and resources required. Primary duties include: planning, developing and implementing media strategies to transmit diocesan news and information to the people throughout the diocese using assorted media platforms such as print, website, social media, video and photos; seeking, writing and editing material for the Dakota Catholic Action (DCA) diocesan monthly magazine and other digital platforms; managing the content and updates of the diocesan website and internal communications to clergy and parishes; maintaining effective working relationships with parishes, schools and other entities affiliated with the diocese; fielding calls from the external news media and facilitating interview requests.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in the field of communications, journalism or visual arts is preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, equivalent education and experience pertaining to the position will be considered. Two to five years of experience in the field of multi-media communications is preferred. Applicant must be able to work from the Bismarck office full-time.
