 Role Overview

The Diocese of Erie is seeking a faith-filled and mission-driven leader to serve as Coordinator of Catholic Identity & Mission. This part-time role is a key partner to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools and is responsible for strengthening Catholic identity, promoting faith formation, and fostering vibrant school communities across the diocesan system.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the spiritual and cultural life of Catholic schools while supporting leaders, educators, and students in living out the Gospel.

Key Responsibilities

Champion Catholic Identity

  • Lead initiatives to deepen mission-driven culture in schools
  • Integrate faith, service, and academic excellence into school life

Form & Inspire Leaders

  • Design and deliver faith formation programs for principals, faculty, and staff
  • Support ongoing spiritual growth throughout school communities

Build Vibrant Communities

  • Collaborate with pastors, principals, and diocesan leadership
  • Support liturgies, retreats, and faith-centered events

Provide Strategic Support

  • Guide schools in incorporating Catholic Social Teaching
  • Assist with accreditation, planning, and continuous improvement

Serve as a Resource

  • Provide guidance on Church teachings and diocesan policies
  • Help schools cultivate welcoming, faith-filled environments

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (theology, education, pastoral ministry, or related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Catholic education, ministry, or leadership

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in faith formation or school leadership
  • Knowledge of NSBECS standards
  • Familiarity with diocesan and parish collaboration

  • Location: St. Mark Catholic Center, Erie, PA
  • Travel: Required throughout the Diocese of Erie
  • Reports To: Superintendent of Catholic Schools
