The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington is seeking a Chief Financial Officer, appointed by the Bishop after consultation with the Diocesan Consultors and the Diocesan Finance council, who will be the principal financial administrator for the Diocese and its subsidiaries. The CFO is responsible for administering Diocesan finances and property in accordance with the directives of the Diocesan Bishop and the Diocesan Finance Council and prescriptions of the code of Canon Law. The position provides the required Diocesan overview of finances in the parishes. The term of office is for five years; the term is renewable.

This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding strategic initiatives to meet short-term and long-term financial objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA (with concentration in Finance or Accounting), a minimum of fifteen years' relevant experience with five years’ financial leadership experience, experience working with multiple/complex revenue streams, an expertise of regulatory compliance procedures including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and non-profit reporting standards, and a demonstrated broad knowledge of business operations with an emphasis on non-profit organizations. The candidate should be a practicing Catholic able to witness to the sacramental life of the community with an understanding of and commitment to the mission of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington.
