POSITION SUMMARY
Regina Catholic Schools is seeking a mission-driven Finance Director to lead all business and financial operations for our PreK–12 system. This role oversees the Business Office, safeguards assets, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners closely with the Head of School and Finance Committee to support responsible stewardship and long-term sustainability.
This position is ideal for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants their work to directly support Catholic education.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership
- Develop and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP and donor requirements.
- Prepare accurate financial statements; lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Report regularly to the Finance Committee and Board of Education serving as the School Board Treasurer; support governance and strategic planning.
- Oversee cash flow, debt management, and capital reserve planning.
- Supervise core business office functions including accounts payable, payroll, benefits, insurance, and employee contracts.
Budgeting, Tuition, and Financial Aid
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Oversee tuition management, financial aid, Education Savings Accounts (ESA), and Student Tuition Organization (STO) programs.
- Partner with parishes on funding of subsidies.
Collaboration and Strategic Support
- Work closely with the Regina Foundation and school service groups on financial processes and shared initiatives.
- Coordinate with external auditors; ensure all diocesan and government reporting requirements are met.
- Provide financial insights for campus planning, sustainability efforts, and operational improvements.
Oversight of Business Operations
- Ensure the Business Office supports the fundamental operational needs of the school in coordination with the leadership team.
- Oversee insurance administration and risk-management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Regina Catholic Schools.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or advanced certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and fiscal compliance.
- Experience in 501(c)(3) financial management, payroll, tax filings, and capital project budgeting.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks.
- Exceptional integrity, organization, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with leadership, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to lead Business Office staff and work independently with minimal supervision.
