We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Retreat Development Manager to join our team! Job Summary: The Retreat Development Manager shall plan, market and coordinate retreats, programs, and conferences both in person and virtual. They shall collaborate with others both from the Center at Donaldson and those from our communities. They should have strong organizational, interpersonal, and relational skills for working with diverse groups of faith, denominations, and inter-generationally. This person will enhance opportunities for personal retreats. Will oversee website and Facebook for Lindenwood.
All Staff:
- Acts as a friendly ambassador for Lindenwood by providing welcoming assistance for those being served.
- Answer the phone in a pleasant and professional manner and directs calls to the appropriate desk or takes a message and personally communicates the information.
- Escorts groups through the dietary line as scheduled.
- Attends weekly staff meetings to share insights about ways to improve facilities and service.
- Substitutes as needed when other Lindenwood staff members are off work.
- Represents Lindenwood on TCAD committees when asked.
- Actively participates in emergency procedures training to assist guests and residents in the event of any type of emergency.
- Oversees requests for services by groups in a courteous and considerate manner.
- Actively assists in office teamwork projects.
Retreat Development Manager:
- Ensures that Lindenwood retreats, conferences, and programs are consistent with the mission, philosophy, and values of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and Lindenwood.
- Responsible to organizing, promoting, and coordinate dynamic retreats, conferences, and program experiences at Lindenwood. To include, but not limited to:
- Sponsored Retreats (both face to face and virtual)
- Enhance the Private retreat options for individuals
- Developing retreat experiences for other PHJC ministries
- Develop experiences for churches and schools to come to Lindenwood for retreats.
- Responsible to form and maintain collaborative partnerships within the communities that we serve.
- Participate in maintaining the goals of Lindenwood.
- Serves as Lindenwood’s representative on different committees at The Center.
- Assists Lindenwood with entering data and maintaining Lindenwood’s constituents and maintains accurate records.
- Make sure that the website and facebook are up to date, and current with strong marketing for all of Lindenwood.
SPECIFICATIONS
Prior Education and Training:
- Undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts or other related area. Combination of undergraduate college studies and previous work experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated work experience with retreat facilities or assisting with spiritual growth programs.
- Familiarity with Catholic, ecumenical and interfaith traditions desirable.
Prior Work Experience/Skills Required:
Comfortable with leading retreats, conferences and programs across many Christian traditions, along with networking with facilitators and retreat directors from other faith based communities.
- Possesses a deep Christian Spirituality, with openness to how God’s Spirit is revealed in and through a variety of spiritualities.
- Ability to work with and respond to the needs of multi-generations that Lindenwood serves.
On-the-Job Training/Orientation Required:
- Completion of new co-worker orientation.
- Attendance of in-service education programs in emergency procedures, fire, disaster, infection control, and safety.
- Approximately six month orientation required to become competent.

- Person must be able to handle group tours.
- Person will be working on a team and must be able to work well with others.
- Person must be available to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.
- Some travel may be required in the context of promoting and marketing Lindenwood retreats.
Environmental Conditions:
- Mental demands: There is moderate mental pressure in this position; person is working with many details and needs to retain many facts.
- Physical strength is needed for last-minute rearrangement of furniture to meet group needs and for the setting up of Audio-Visual equipment.
- Good working conditions with few hazards.
