Lead the planning, organization and execution of fundraising strategies and stewardship and development initiatives to support the implementation and expansion of Pastoral Migratoria at the national level in pilot diocesan sites, including donor prospecting and relations, a major gifts program, annual funds/appeals, grants management, and special events. Pastoral Migratoria ® (PM) is an immigrant leadership ministry of service, justice and accompaniment in parish communities. Work under the guidance and support of the National Pastoral Migratoria (NPM) Fundraising Board and the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Senior National Coordinator for Immigration, and in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Development and other NPM staff.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and execute fundraising strategies to secure and increase donations, grants and contributions to achieve short and long-term financial objectives.
  • Develop and manage a fundraising plan and research, identify, and pursue sources of new funding.
  • Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and retention of major donors (e.g. individuals, businesses, sponsors) under the guidance of the NPM Fundraising Board, including through regular contacts in person, by phone, and through electronic means.  presentations. Take leadership in donor relationship management.
  • Create, coordinate, and execute an annual fund program and special appeals including mailings and annual fundraising drives, within budget parameters.
  • Take a lead role in the planning, coordination and execution of fundraising and development initiatives and events, engaging advisory board and volunteer participation.
  • Participate in grant-seeking, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
  • Track and assess fundraising metrics by establishing and overseeing tracking systems/tools.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of a fundraising/contact management database
  • Organize and execute an effective stewardship program for current and prospective donors, including a calendarization system, preparation of reports/outcomes, and acknowledgment of donations and pledges.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of an annual report, newsletters, publications, presentations, promotional materials, social media, press releases, etc. as well as media relations, website content/updates, internal communications, etc.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of budgets and calendarization tools
  • Support the planning and delivery of Instituto Nacional Pastoral Migratoria and other events

Education

Masters preferred

Experience

Required

5-10 years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations and prospecting with demonstrated success in development, execution, and leadership of major gift campaigns.
Goal and mission-driven strategic leader and relationship builder with proven ability in the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
Excellent organizational, leadership and collaborative skills, including strong planning, program, time management, analytical, problem solving, and budgeting skills.
Flexibility and willingness to work effectively as team player and independently.
High proficiency in MS Office, social media, and fundraising software.
Must demonstrate understanding, respect, and support for Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values. Familiarity with Catholic social teaching preferred.
Knowledge of immigration issues and commitment to social ministry, preferred.
